Error Plating | I hate split plating.

This is a 1991D it seems split plating is very common in 90-93. It would of been a nice DDR.

Cant tell if its split plating or not, but it almost looks like a doubled die.

Heres better pictures. But I still think its a form of split plating. This is very similar to Cherrypickers: FS-01-1991D-801, Crawford: CDDR-001. I also think those might be a form of split plating.

          Jacob,

Plating split doubling is something completely different. The plating literally splits You appear to have a doubled die.

Here's a good link to plating split doubling:

You might have a new one there. Check with Bob and see if he'll take a look at it for you. From what I'm seeing, it looks like a nice discovery.

Send this one in to Bob. I do think you may have a DDR here but an in hand examination is required before a final decision can be made. This die looks different from CDDR-001. Good Luck and keep us updated. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting coin. I will definitely need to see it in hand to make a proper determination of what it is.
