Thought this kind've interesting. I read somewhere about wheats struck through wire brush bristles. Looks wire-ish anyway. I guess it could be just extra metal. Hope you guys can see the fragment as this coin is heavily toned in this area. Tried my best to adjust saturation so you can differentiate.

Brightened and strengthened pic a bit. I think it's raised after another look. Should have caught this before. Looks like "I" took a hit folding the damage over the frag. There's also somewhat of a "shadow" on the sides of the frag when I focus external light source from the side at 200X. The lite, off-color appearance of the frag originally led me to the bristle theory.Attached FilesComment
