Error Struck Through | 1955-D struck through wire bristle?

Thought this kind've interesting. I read somewhere about wheats struck through wire brush bristles. Looks wire-ish anyway. I guess it could be just extra metal. Hope you guys can see the fragment as this coin is heavily toned in this area. Tried my best to adjust saturation so you can differentiate.

To me, it looks incuse... If it is then yes struck through something like a bristle is a real possibility. If it is raised, then the line was in the die - a chip or some kind of dent..

Brightened and strengthened pic a bit. I think it's raised after another look. Should have caught this before. Looks like "I" took a hit folding the damage over the frag. There's also somewhat of a "shadow" on the sides of the frag when I focus external light source from the side at 200X. The lite, off-color appearance of the frag originally led me to the bristle theory.

The damage on the "I" is confusing me -- Anyone else more expert have an idea??

Did you try to remove it from the coin? Could just be something on the surface.

No, I didn't. Cool idea though. Will let you know how it works out.
