Thank you Mr. Fines. Everything on the coin is In relief. That is why I don't think it's a vice job. I have seen some pics of vice jobs, and have found a few really bad ones searching rolls. I have never seen anything like this one. I have another thread about this coin on another forum. Mr. Diamond saw it and jumped to the conclusion based on some early pics that everything is incuse. I losted better pics and asked if he would attribute it and he never responded. I guess I will have someone else look at it. Mr Cuvier, or Mr. Wiles. I'll work on that today. Thanks to all of you guys for all the help. There is nothing like a good old food fight over a strange coin!

I see on that other thread that Mike invited you to send it to him. Please let us know what he says after he takes a look at it.

Cool... Can't wait for a determination on this one... If it is legit according to Mike then there will need to be some more steps to go through to completely verify it!!!

I figure it's either worth a lot of dough, or 20 years in Federal Prison.
              haha

What does everyone think about a"mirror brockage" strike. When looking over the CONECA site there was an image described as a "mirror brockage" that was incuse and with a mirror image. But I think the rev. die of the 1981d would have to be rotated for UNITED to end up in the location on this coin (opposite side and higher than the '81d date). No matter what the final determination on this coin a lot of errors would have to come together, if it is authentic. Thanks for your patience everyone, while I learn.

To placate tomfiggy I agreed to inspect this cent. It proved to be exactly what it looks like -- a squeeze job. All the extraneous design elements are incuse.
