    Hi
I give up on this post! All that I wanted to find out a's Will suggested, is any of the two coins a #006 s mintmark style in your opinions. I'm sorry about spelling, etc. I certainly will never post anything about mintmark styles (correctly or incorrectly spelled or ), again. I learned my lesson!

Roger, my posts about MM styles have also been met with non-interest and distaste. However, I am going to keep after it because I don't feel my set would be complete without the different MM styles for each year. I don't understand why the lack of interest in it exists. People only seem to care about the 1928. I am not sure why. I hope to fan any sparks of interest in it with others, so I can fill these holes in my collection. I, for one, am thankful for your post in this matter.

funny, my humor never really caught on with my ex-wife either... as for the mintmarks from the "ball" ends of the S it would appear as though the first coin is the 006... I can't really tell with the 2nd coin... and to further clarify I was kind of being sarcastic towards the whole idea of spell checking in general from coppercoins post... spelling mistakes are rampant in the fast paced world of finding a great coin and posting our findings.. plus my fat fingers never really do well on a cell phone keyboard so I tend to write in shorthand/txt msg speak... sorry if i offended anyone with my humor, everyone except my ex-wife that is!

And things were going well for a while at least. This is exactly what I meant when I said we sometimes take things too far. So the man made a typo. It happens all the time. Is there anyone here who did NOT know what the incorrectly spelled word was? A little humor is fine, but we got way off topic, and a little over zealous here folks.
I am not saying don't have a giggle here and there. Just don't keep going on about it. Once the error was pointed out, the post needed to revert to the topic at hand, not an English lesson.

                  Simon,
Instead of hijacking the thread, you should start a new thread about this.

Honestly, the original unedited post was nebulous to a few people. I only knew what Roger was referring because he has sent me a PM about it. I tried to help clarify the post because I was also interested other people's answers. Then Chuck did his thing. Stonecad went off topic. I did my thing while trying to steer the thread back. The Roger got frustrated. Then I did my thing. Then Bob did his thing. It really wasn't all that bad.

I didnt see a big problem in it. " Some" people get a big head about things but them same people can get picked apart just the same. Nobody is perfect. I wouldnt lose any nap time over it at all. Everyone should of been able to realize what was being asked. If not, then I dont think it has to do with who started the thread....

Bob, Simon, Jason, Heidi, etc. I honestly think none of you are understanding what actually happened in this thread. There was only ONE person in this whole thread who went after Roger for his spelling, and that was Chuck. However, this was NOT even the crux of what Chuck was saying! He was suggesting a more detail oriented approach because RW's post was unclear. Was it a little cold? Maybe, but that's Chuck. The truth is that the text of Roger's original unedited post was VERY nebulous. It was not clear in any way that he was even asking about a mint mark. Maineman was confused as well. I only knew what was being referenced because of a PM RW had sent me or I would have been confused as well. The thread was cleared up at that point by my own efforts and by RW EDITING his OP, clarifying it greatly. At this point the thread was just fine. Stonecad then took it off target and I gave him the business for it in my own special way, but NONE of that exchange had ANYTHING to do with attacking RW's spelling. I will take some grief for the disintegration of this thread, but quite frankly, it was an important thread to me and I worked toward fixing it and keeping it intact. The thread has since certainly now been hijacked and destroyed, but at whom should you be pointing the finger for that?

                            Respectfully,
                            Will

No pointing of fingers necessary Will. I understood everything that happened perfectly. Seems kind of weird that a bunch of us apparently don't know what happened. I am sure you are just trying to set things straight, but that's not necessary.
First off, I am well aware of Chuck and the way he says things. I have known him for many years. Do I agree with the way he says some things? No...not always, but as you said, and I know all too well, that is Chuck being Chuck.
However, it doesn't matter if one person started making fun of it or not, the point is that others got involved, quoted stonecads post, and took the post off topic enough that it upset the OP. That was the purpose of my post. I said nothing more than that. I was trying to nip it in the bud. It seems as a lot of my attempts to do my job have been questioned recently. Not saying that's the issue now, but I thought I was very precise in what I said. It really didn't need anything else, and I was going to leave it at that.
It's in cases like this that I wish people would just be a little more careful about what they say, and when. People do have feelings, and as I stated...I have no problems with having a little giggle. I am sure Roger got a kick out of it originally too as I know he can have a great sense of humor. At what point do we say enough kidding and get back on topic? That's all I was trying to say. I appreciate your help in trying to get this thing back on track Will. However, the damage was done. I personally don't care who's feelings were hurt. My job it to try and see that it doesn't happen again. Seems simple enough as I am sure you will agree.

To me, stonecad was just saying you can misspell things and still understand what it reads. I didnt see anything wrong in his statement. It was more sticking up for Roger then talking about him. Then Will with his subliminal response of pretty much saying stone is giving excuses of why he posted it.
This place is becoming more of a headache to read anymore. Goes from a minor thread to getting blown up into this type garbage everyday. Learn how to respect people, no matter who it is. If you cant say anything nice then dont say it at all. You wont get respect if you dont show it, I dont care how well known you are. Ill probably just delete my account here so I dont get the urge to respond to stupidity anymore. I have contacts to the ones that matter.
