    Yes, I tend to agree that this probably isn't exactly what it is. That's why I prefaced that comment with, "except for the color...." I was offering that up as what it "looked like" because the sharp edge and rounded edge didn't look like a planchet or blank to me. Interestingly, an electrical box knockout does in fact weigh 5 grams (or thereabouts) and is slightly larger than a nickel. Maybe this isn't exactly what it is, but I'll bet it is on the right track of thinking. You'll probably never be able to know for sure as Chris said. Thanks for the interesting post.
