Think about it. A planchet larger than that of a cent cannot be struck by dies that are smaller. You never see a cent struck on a nickel planchet, because a nickel planchet would not make it into the 1 cent dies. The same can be said for foreign planchets that are larger than that of a 1c planchet.

The general consensus is definitely not from the Mint. Jason mentioned "Texas Cent" which is a cent hammered between two pieces of leather.
I don't know much on foreign planchets or U.S. planchets, so I will have to go with what the majority is saying.
I have to learn how to take better pictures so everyone can see how authentic this coin looks. It fooled me enough to buy it. If I joined this forum and asked questions before I bought it, I could have saved myself a few bucks.

Just put it to the side. Keep searching and experimenting with coin photography. One day you'll have good shot and we can take a closer look. Until then, keep up the hunt!
