Think about it. A planchet larger than that of a cent cannot be struck by dies that are smaller. You never see a cent struck on a nickel planchet, because a nickel planchet would not make it into the 1 cent dies. The same can be said for foreign planchets that are larger than that of a 1c planchet.

The general consensus is definitely not from the Mint. Jason mentioned "Texas Cent" which is a cent hammered between two pieces of leather.
I don't know much on foreign planchets or U.S. planchets, so I will have to go with what the majority is saying.
I have to learn how to take better pictures so everyone can see how authentic this coin looks. It fooled me enough to buy it. If I joined this forum and asked questions before I bought it, I could have saved myself a few bucks.
Please bear with me until I learn how to send better pictures.

Uhhhhh, good point, I hadn't thought of that. It does not appear to be a "texas cent", the design does not appear flattened... Is it magnetic?

Gosh, I'm really not trying to give you a hard time Alex, but what does that have to do with the price of beans in China?

It is definitely not magnetic. It seems to be the size of the old large cents before the Indian heads came out.

Just put it to the side. Keep searching and experimenting with coin photography. One day you'll have good shot and we can take a closer look. Until then, keep up the hunt!
