LOL. My theory works for this 6-8th grade brain.
The planchette barely got kissed by the die to the north of the hairline, where it meets the field.

Yes, just earlier today. Here you go.
Hi Sheila, I went ahead and listed it as CU-1c-1989-30R. I'll replace the full obverse & reverse images when you send me new ones.

Congrats on that listing Sheila! Outstanding!

Hey, can someone answer a question for me. On the Cuds-on-Coins website, have you noticed the same names over and over again list errors. How in God's name do these people find these errors over and over again? This guy Dan Hemperly on Sheila's page. He's got to be a mint employee or buying them on eBay! I'd like to know his secret.

He does a lot of searching Not sure on the specifics but I imagine he purchases some rolls from ebay or coin shops as well as getting them from the banks... Larry goes thru a bunch of bricks and in his area there are some really nice coins showing up and luckily Larry is the one finding them!!!

As good an explanation as any, thanks Jim! Whatever his secret, it's gotta be a full-time job.

You'll see the same thing with some doubled dies and RPMs. Some folks search large volumes and are good at finding stuff and make multiple discoveries. Some of the attributors have a bunch of discoveries too.
