I actually sent an email to Dr. Wiles but have not heard anything yet. I'm just not sure how busy he is and don't want to seem pushy.
I was going to send an email to John Wexler this weekend.
Thanks for inquiring Viv.Comment

Thank you Cliff for the update! Looks like Variety Vista has not listed any Shield cents since 2016 so contacting John Wexler is a good idea!Comment

I think the mint should go back to hand punching the MMs... They can keep the single squeeze but with hand punched MMs we would at least get something in the no DD years

Cliff, so sorry the doubling in TRUST is awesome. And this is the New Discovery you found?. WOW!! that is awesome I have to check my 150 rolls to see if I have this die. Also go through all the circulated rolls I have to see.

Thanks Patrick.
Forget the rolls though because this variety is only found in loose pocket change!

I received an early Christmas present today.
Dr. Wiles returned my coins I sent in for attribution.
Ta-Dah ........ 2017p DDO-001, 1-0-VIII, stage A, EDS
I don't think he will update his files for all one of the 2017 varieties in Variety Vista so far until some time next month (judging by the 2016 listings being done in Jan. 2017)
I owe everyone hear a big, big, BIG thank you for the knowledge and enthusiasm you have shared. It is absolutely contagious.
I never would have found this variety without the LCF, because I only searched wheats until I started participating on a regular basis last year.
ps. More on the other coins in another thread.
Edit- Found the listing 2017p DDO-001

Awesome... Lighting does strike twice... Way to go... Speaking of lighting striking twice - On one of the science shows I watch a guy was walking down the road... All was caught on CCTV... Suddenly a bright flash and he gets zapped on the head a huge burn spot on the ground... About 5 minutes later he gets up and staggers down the road about 50 feet and again a bright flash he gets hit in the head a huge burn spot on the ground and again after 5 minutes he gets up and staggers away... I know it is awful that happened but all I could do was
MAO... By the way Merry Christmas

Thanks Jim for adding the info.Cliff,

Hmmmmm. The VV listing is probably right but I'll have to email him for clarification because I was careful to type it as it was printed on the letter that came with the coins.
I was very pleased to see TRUST included in the images as well as the prominent die chip marker on the edge of the shield over the E (E PLU). That marker makes it easy to confirm.
So WDDO-0017 is also DDO-001 and vice vesa.

Thanks Viv.
I realized that last night when typing the posts. 2017 has been a very good year for me for Lincoln cents. And I feel a strong sense of gratitude to everyone here.
(Not that I'm impatient but I've been searching modern bank rolls for months now and can't figure out how come I don't have a '92d CLAM yet.)
