Dr. Wiles may have forgotten a couple of Is' when he typed the class in the listing??? Yes WDDO-017 and DDO-001 are the same DDO... Just different numbers on the individual sites... Wexler has had more coins sent to him for attribution and VV has only had the one you sent in!!!

Thanks Jon. Yes indeedy, 2017 is a good year so far, and still 10 days left.
Edit: Your "year of" comment got me to looking up the Chinese zodiac sign for this year. It is the year of the dog. "Clifford the Big Red Dog" is one of many nicknames I have acquired over the years because of the kids book series of the same name.

Dr. Wiles response to my question about the class came today. Thanks Jim for adding the info.
Hmmmmm. The VV listing is probably right but I'll have to email him for clarification because I was careful to type it as it was printed on the letter that came with the coins.
I was very pleased to see TRUST included in the images as well as the prominent die chip marker on the edge of the shield over the E (E PLU). That marker makes it easy to confirm.
So WDDO-0017 is also DDO-001 and vice vesa.
"..... Class VIII signifies a tilted hub doubled die, which is the vast majority of doubled dies from the single squeeze hubbing process in use since 1996. Class VI signifies a distended hub doubled die which shows extra thickness.
Your coin is properly listed in the CONECA files as a Class VI because there is no noticeable separation of images, just extra thickness.
Thanks,
James Wiles"
Class VI it is.
I just wasn't sure if the bottom right of U on TRUST was an indication of some other class.Comment
