Wow!! I know better than that! That's attribution 101, check date and mm! I think it's been awhile since I attributed something with a mm. You are definitely correct though, mine is north and west of 002. I'll look through again and see if anything else looks good. Thanks Viv!
1968 D DDO or Doubled working hub? Leaning towards 1968D-1DO-002

I agree on not being 002 due to the MM location CCs 001 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=mds is really close in MM location but I am not sure on the doubling because of the circ wear... VVs 003 http://www.varietyvista.com/01b%20LC...968DDDO003.htm is really close also in MM location.... The circ wear will make this one difficult to attribute... I think MM location will be a key factor on this one... If we can not find a match it could be a new listing or Philly sent a hub to Denver with DD on it???Jim

Yeah, I still can't believe I pulled that bone head move, it's not even close to 002.I agree on not being 002 due to the MM location CCs 001 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=mds is really close in MM location but I am not sure on the doubling because of the circ wear... I've been looking at a couple that are extremely close as you mentioned. Wexler says in his WWHO listing that this particular working hub was used for P,D,S and even in S proofs. If I understand the pecking order the working hub is made by the master die, so not as many potential as there could be with a doubled master die but still a lot I suppose. I've got several hours in this guy and may just put in my send off stack. As you said with the wear, it would be tough. Thanks for taking a look though Jim!!

That working hub ran the circuit... Since the working hub makes the working dies no telling how many working dies were created throughout the mint... Would you like me to do an overlay for the date/MM... I won't be able to post the pics but it may help decide either way???Yeah, I still can't believe I pulled that bone head move, it's not even close to 002.

Sure Jim, I would really appreciate that!! I've been lazy and have not dug into doing the overlays yet....That working hub ran the circuit... Just wanted to give ya'll an update... I did an overlay of Jons date/MM image with CCs 001 and VVs 003 date/MM images... On CCs 001 Jons MM was to far north... On VVs 003 the date, MM, jacket and rim line all lined up... I am currently waiting for a reply from Dr. Wiles on using the image from 003 in this thread... Once I know either way I will re-post!!!Jim

With permission from Variety Vista (Thank you Dr. Wiles) I did an overlay using the date/mm image from VVs 003 http://varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20D...968DDDO003.htm Date, MM jacket and rim all line up so in my opinion your coin is VVs 003... The 1st image is from VV the second is Jons overlaid on VVs 003 then Jons... I believe yours is a later die stage but not 100% sure... Thanks Jon for letting me do this overlay for you... I appreciate it!!!Jim
