He stays on the other forum.....I havent been there for over a year. Not even following a link to a topic for any reason. I dont like 90% of the members and the people who run it arent worth arguing with.

A member here bought the 88 DDO. It wasnt Billy. He said he bought it so it stays with the forum where it was discovered.. Not sure if it was bought from Billy or whoever found it but isnt that how this hobby is anyway?
A coin is only worth how bad the buyer wants it.

I haven't heard from him in a while either. Maybe it's time to say Merry Christmas and to see how he's doing.

          I bought it. From Billy.
I made it my avatar so instead of falling into obscurity and the darkened confines of a SDB, this important variety could be viewed by the community where it was discovered.

We weren't wondering where the coin was..DCW's avatar was pretty obvious...we were speculating why he left so suddenly and won't return emails.

                  Good clarification
I would like an explanation on what happened on that 1996 wam. I don't know about anyone else but my hopes for finding one got dashed when I found that post. I was just looking for some info and that popped up!

Roger, the explanation I heard was that the 1996 WAM got stolen before an outside source could verify Billy's find.

Except for the fact that the officer cited as taking his report was his own brother-in-law and upon further investigation, the officer said he never took said report, stating that the area in which the robbery supposedly took place was outside of his juristiction.

Not casting aspersions- simply relating what has already been reported- refer to the link on the article provided earlier in this thread.

Now lets not bring up old news. I think everyone knows that the news has a way of getting their facts all twisted. I know with the limited amount of contact I've had with them that they normally mess it all up unless they truly understand the situation. It's rare that I find a flawless news report. If Billy was lying low because of some such event, he would still promptly send the CD that is at large. Perhaps Billy is not a very open guy when it comes to personal matters and is going through some tough time. Perhaps he lost his job or his house or something. Just don't go bringing up old news that we don't really know the full story behind.

I believe he found what He thought was to be a 96 WAM and blew it up before realizing it wasnt. It blew up too far for him to just come out and say it wasnt what he thought. As much as hes respected and well known, I never thought it to exist. It was just a mistake on his part if you ask me. AS for the story on what happened, Im not sure. Maybe he took time away because of all the conflict on about him...He has a HUGE reputation aside from the disagreements

BTW. Thats also a link from a topic from 2 years ago. Whatever made him leave this time has nothing to do with the "WAM".

It was proven that the wam photo was a fake according to someone that I won't mention that was involved with this "article in Coin World. "
BC said the coin was stolen - which was proven by coin world not to be correct. He said he was at a certain coin show - which again was not correct - photo experts said the picture was a composite.

I personally did not know that until yesterday when I found the info on the Internet. As far as Chris's issue - that's something for you dealers and ethical stuff.

I could care less if your pro Billy or against him - what's true is there are current issues with the cd.

Old news or new new, which hunts or whatever - trust to me is something that is sacred.

I hope all of this is untrue - all I did was post something that I found and looking at responses it is simply a non- issue.

                            Close it.

Im not against Billy but Im only pro-me..lolol.

AS for the cd. I would just dispute it with paypal and see what happens. Im sure this isnt the only issue people are having. Hope theres an explanation to the problems and not him losing his head
