    1876CC dime with a DDR

In the pile of coins I bought I found this 1876CC dime. I see that it is a DDR. I can't find a list # for it. Can any body help? Maybe with a value mark. I got to make some of my money back LOL.

That's a VERY cool and dramatic DDR Frank. Not in the Cherrypicker's Guide. I'm not familiar with it- I never used my Seated dime, quarter or half references, so I sold them. Sorry I can't be more help.

I'd check with Larry Briggs on that one, he really knows the series.

I had one of these. It was struck using rusty dies i remember. I think that had something to do with the way the E turned out.

I don't know what to make of it. Why is the E in ONE significantly doubled and the rest of the reverse is not? Possible the E in ONE it is recut rather than doubled? The coin is too worn for me to see any other doubling on the outer devices. The Carson City Collectors Coin forum is closed, so I can't put it up there and ask.

This one is in the doubled die files as 1876-CC 10¢ WDDR-001, thanks to the help from Mr Coinman.

I believe this is listed in Breen's Encyclopedia U.S. AND COLONIAL COINS. As 3397 "Type 1" Small Knob to 6. Rev. Doubled Die. Rare. Rusted Obv. and Rev. Dies.

It is still possible it is something else.
