    The wife is funny.

Just wanted to share to this.
I just ceased being a "lincoln junkie," which I was lamenting to my wife because I thought it was a funny and appropriate moniker. She comes back, "They need to have a wives' forum there called 'Lincoln widows.'"

Now, to me, a woman making a joke is usually like a dog walking on its hind legs, but that made me bust out laughing.

Mine came in this morning and asked if I had heard that they were considering getting rid of the cent. I said, "yup...but I doubt they'll do it."

Her reply, "well yeah, but if they do, you'll be rich!"

I explained that the number of coins already out there would be all the same regardless of whether they stopped making them. I told her that my only hope is that even if they do stop making them, I hope they don't demonetize them.

To which she replied, "what's that?"

So I explained that about two decades ago the UK got rid of the half pence and demonetized it a couple of years later. If you hadn't turned yours in to the bank by a certain date, you were out of luck. They wouldn't take them any more.

She got a little pale in the face, then said..."in that case you'd be screwed, huh?"

That's when you give her the old, "No, honey, WE'D be screwed." They always appreciate that.

I'm fortunate. My wife supports me in this hobby and the forum and is very happy I'm a part of it. When I mention a name such as so and so found this or that, she knows exactly who I'm talking about. I guess I talk about the forum and everyone more than I realize.

That reminds me of "My wife ran off with my best friend, and I sure do miss him."
