I just hope you're not basing those prices on some old Becketts. The market has dropped about 75% since back in the day when I collected.
Yes, unfortunately. The market is mostly graded cards now. Raw cards are very hard to sell. Even graded cards are worth fractions of what they were 10-15 years ago.

I'm going to show my age here, but if the players of a team don't include George Brett, Robin Yount, Rod Carew, Willie Stargell, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Steve Garvey, Pete Rose, Roberto Clemente, Jim Palmer, Cal Ripken, Brooks Robinson, Harmon Killebrew, or Willie Mays then I don't care to watch them play, nor do I care about their cards.
I actually totally gave up on the MLB back in '94 when the lot of 'em showed their true colors by going on strike and ruining the World Series stats forever. First year in 90 years they didn't have a Series, and '93 was the last year I watched them.
