Just thought I would see how many fellow gun lovers are here on the LCR. Im in a HUGE rut in searching right now so im taking a little break from coins and working on some of my gun projects I have had in work for a while. Im playing around with doing some grip/magazine stippling(burning the polymer to give more grip). Here is one I have been working on for a few...
Its a Mini-14 P mag... Made by pro mag and they have very poor reviews but it was only $15 for a 30 rounder. I had to get it... I seats well in the gun with no slop so hopefully it will cycle well. I put 10 dummy rounds through it and it did just fine... maybe I got a good one this time. Here it is all finished up...
The pmags I picked up already have texture running the front and along the bottom. They dropped from $29.99 back down to a reasonable price of $12.99. May have to pick up some more.
Hmm, I'm surprised to hear you've had problems with the p-mag. Is that something unique to the mini-14? I've had tons of them with no issues. I even took a few with me to Iraq several years ago.
pmags are made by magpul, I think the OP's is an off brand Pro Mag
Ah... I was going to say,the ones we had you could do anything to them. The springs were better in them too. They would feed a M249 better than the mil spec metal magazines.
This mag is not a P mag from Magpul, Its a polymer mini 14 mag from Pro Mag... the Mini 14 seems to have a problem with any mag that's not made by Ruger or any mag that cost less than $40. I cant figure it out! I bought an aluminum Pro Mag a while back and my Mini HATES it!
In fact, I've done 2 different trade deals, coins for gun. Anyone have a firearm they'd want to trade for expensive coins?
Cool Larry, I've always shied away from the budget specials, good to hear it preforms well!
I've got some long guns. Will think on that and get back to you. For about 30 years that's all I collected sold and bought. Then came the new gun show restrictions and it all went to hell. No more reason to go to gun shows unless you are interested in assault weapons and a world of hassle, even with a carrying permit. As far as a dry spell in coin searching goes, I don't remember when I last found something noteworthy. I've even had thoughts about dumping the hobby (or roll searching anyway) but can't go that far (yet).

Will trade my AU Details 1931-S for a working M1895 Mosin Nagant revolver
Really though. Only a small gun collection for me; revolvers and an old bolt action rifle. Don't like new firearms and not a fan of the gun enthusiast scene (too much ego for my liking, present company excepted of course!)
