Lets all contribute to a countdown from 2017 to 1909 , year to year with all business strike mints included ( proofs are a bonus but not required to progress backwards ) , of our varieties and errors or toners. Let's try to not jump around too much and miss a date or mint on our way back in time, but multiple examples from the same year/mint will be fun to see.
I hope all will feel welcome to participate and have fun !

Should we start a new thread as we get to each decade so the different coins don't get completely lost in the size and length of just one thread.
John since this is your great idea and you have lots of excellent examples, maybe you could start off each decade if this is the route we pursue.

Great idea Cliff! John can give us the go-ahead when it's time to start the next year!

Sorry every one but just trying to clarify:
Start a new post for each decade or each year. (Individual years sound pretty intensive)
The advantage of each decade is that multiple decades can be posted on at the same time.

Petespockets55 might be a good idea, Sounds fun but like someone said, this thread would potentially go on for a long time. Cool game though, great idea, I'd like to see everyone's odd, strange favorites. I recently found a 1967 with beautiful toning, I didn't dare touch it.

Nice find Viv!! I cannot remember running across any shields at all with a crack at the date after I thought about it.

Thank you Jon, me either until today. Really.. I haven't seen many die cracks at all on 2017's not even on the Shield, compared to other Shield years. Maybe I just haven't seen enough of them?

Looks like some of the modern denver issues could be sticks in the mud holding back the party. Lets try to keep a list of missed issues to go back to and get the log rolling. Have fun !

So sad ... My reverse consumption engine was a broken fuel gauge ... gonna look at coins now. John

Well John, the only Denver issue I know of is a 2012D that Cliff saw on another forum that looks like it's a DDO! Wouldn't that be great! Cliff said he will keep us posted!

Shall we move on to 2016?

                    Morning Viv !
When we get there I have a 2011-D that I can add
A minor DDR that I found a while back though I did not realize there were no listings for the Denver mint in 2011. John

Yes , lets move along an hopefully someone has some Denver issues where Abe has a shinny nose or something !

Cliff , this sounds like a great idea !
It will also be better for keeping up with whatever date/mints get missed.

Okay everybody, John said it's time to show off your 2016's Philly's and Denver's! All Denver's welcomed! LOL... John

Edit: I forgot all about the San Fran's, John's statement about the shiny nose Denver's had me laughing so hard!

I thought I had some 2016 doubled dies but all I have is this clash I posted a couple of days ago. Slim pickins on my end! I look forward to seeing other folks finds though.

Found a nice obverse clash with no letter transfer and none to be found on the reverse either. There is only one listing for 2016 and it's a little different.http://www.maddieclashes.com/tdc-1c-2016-01/ Thanks for looking, Jon.
