The official LCR short snorter project

After seeing Brad's thread on short snorters, I think it would be a good idea for the LCR to have one of our own.
For those that don't know what a short snorter is, it is a silver certificate with signatures on it. It was a tradition started in the 1920s by pilots for good luck.
How I see this working is a member provides a silver certificate (I unfortunately do not have one myself), and signs it. Willing members will also sign it, and then send it off to the next person. After everyone that is eligable has signed it, it can be auctioned off or sold here to benefit the LCR.

That is the basic idea, but I thought I'd open it up for discussion with everyone here. Here are my thoughts:

-To sign up for the short snorter (once we get someone who can provide the silver certificate), simply comment on the thread saying you want to participate. The bill will go in the order in which people sign up. (For instance, if Roger commented, then Chris, then Jason, Roger would sign it, send it to Chris, Chris would sign it, Send it to Jason, etc) There will be a set amount of time in which you can sign up to participate, so we don't have people signing up a month after we start.

-Once you sign it, you post in this thread saying you are mailing it off to the next person, so the forum can publicly track its progress.

-Depending on the number of participants, the signatures should be big enough to read easily but small enough to fit everyone's signature.

-You sign with the username you have on the LCR.

-Once all the signatures are are present, it gets auctioned off in an LCR benefit auction.

Chime in with your ideas. This is meant to be a fun way to connect with other forum users!

    Simon

EDIT: now that things are moving along, here is the list of participants in order, and will be edited as more people are added.

I can provide one. 1957A or 1935D, your choice. I like the idea.

I would like to see both the LCR username (printed) and the person's real signature, LCR name on top of signature. You get all the big time forum regulars to sign one and its mine.

Great idea Simon! I like Thomas' suggestion of LCR user name followed by your signature.

            Edit: I'm in.

I believe signing with user names only would devalue the note rather than add to it. The only realistic evidence that a person ever handled the note is with their signature, not their user name. I would participate.

Since admrose was the first to comment, he will have the pleasure of providing it/being the first to sign it. Keith, it's up to you as to which date you choose. I think that we should sign our signature, and in parentheses put our forum username, so we know who's who. But we can still discuss this part.

People that wish to participate will have until the end of August to sign up, after which it will close and the process will begin.

I will also throw my name into the ring.

So far, I am seeing admrose-->oncecent1909--flyhi3-->(jcuve?)-->coppercoins-->jallengomez-->simonm

Are you willing to take that risk?

If you say so...I'll take your name off the list.
