I've got two rolls of 1968-S that I removed from the Bank wrappers (OBW) last summer. So, that's 100 samples that I plan on testing the "one in a hundred" theory. I hope to find one as good as BadThad's.
I'll post the ten best when I get a good DSLR this summer.
I sorted out my 45 year old piggy bank last summer, that had about 18,000 cents (??) (75 lbs), and found around 500 1982 cents. Now, I'll be looking for COMPLETE STEPS in this batch, ALSO, when I get back to my "1982" project. I'll post my results when I'm done.
I would like to find just 1 1982 Lincoln with full steps ! Good luck , Right Scott
Lucky you then! LOL The reverse Memorial design was different in 1982, FS coins are abundant. They removed the fine details in the steps. Here's a 1982 FS coin, it's also one of the most lustrous coins I've ever seen. In hand, that the obverse staining is not bad.

I searched about 30 OBW rolls, countless standard BU rolls (tubes, etc) and general searching (bags/bank rolls). Out of those I think I found 3-4 FS coins.

Looks like the hypothesis should be "one-in-a-thousand", instead of "one-in-a-hundred", but I'll still give it a try. What else can a person do with 100 1968-S Lincoln cents???
Thanks for the 1982-P (LD) FS pics. I'll use them as a reference in sorting out my pile.
Interesting discussion. Is there a list of dates to watch for full steps. Something that hasn't been on the radar.
John
From 1975 to 1979 (prior to the change), FS are very difficult due to wear on the reverse hubs and weak strikes. The problem areas are the first 2-3 steps and the area in the left, middle.

I'm curious as to whether this 1982-P LD cent is copper or zinc, and what grade would you estimate it would be given, if you would have it slabed.
